I've got lots of hobbies...hunting(rifle and bow), running, weightlifting, reading books on political science, espionage, clandestine warfare and conspiracy theories, softball, the History and Sci-Fi channel but I LLOOVVVE scuba diving.
This is a great spot. If your able to get someone to take you twelve miles out, 170 degrees south of Panacea, Fl. There's a place called the "K" Tower. It's a navigation beacon for airplanes and ships. Constructed from a missile shell, it puts out a loud tone at preset intervals, which draws mondo fish and some humongeous barracuda. Depth is about 65 ft.
Spring dives in Florida are very cold. All the springs in the Big Bend area(North Florida) brag that the water temperature is 72 degrees year round. Horse hockey! I've been diving in most all of 'em and haven't found one yet that was over 68. Most are 64. Anyway, a 1/4 inch, two piece farmer john wet suit works best for me.
